Experiment where life happens.
Every community has its own relationships, routines, and ways of sharing knowledge. TOPOS gives us a way to explore those differences and test what helps people understand their lives, coordinate, and support one another.
Whether it is an algorithm running on someone’s device, a model of information moving through a community, or measuring the effects of changing those flows, TOPOS enables different kinds of experiments in real-world settings.
Three places to experiment.
- On-device algorithms. Test how algorithms working with a person’s own data can help them understand their circumstances and recognize opportunities to act.
- Information flow across a community. Model who can learn what, from whom, and when. Explore how those arrangements affect the group’s ability to coordinate and use the knowledge already among its members.
- The impact of changing those flows. Adjust how information reaches people and measure what happens. Do members find it easier to help one another? What changes in participation, understanding, or coordination?
Starting with everyday communities.
Experiments are currently taking place in friend groups and among co-workers. Classrooms and small businesses are next.
The aim is to increase what people can do together, using their own knowledge and abilities. TOPOS supports the connections between them.
